The BMC Recon Parang is designed to deliver a powerful punch in a small package; offering enough responsiveness and power for hacking back branches, brambles and weeds.
It is a classic upswept Parang blade profile, with an extremely comfortable Micarta handle. Blade length is 252mm and a generous, extremely comfortable handle extends OAL to 430mm.
The diminutive blade has a distal taper from 5mm down to 3.3mm, keeping the blade lighter and better balanced for general machete use.
It is made from C67 Carbon Spring Steel for easy sharpening and great edge retention.
Ergonomics is always at the forefront of our design philosophy. The curvature, texture, bolt positioning, height and thickness of the handle have been tweaked to offer the most comfortable forward and back grips possible.
The tang is skeletonised full-length construction offering that peace of mind when using this tool day in day out for serious work.
There is no finger guard, in keeping with a more traditional 'Parang' Machete and to give a much more streamlined look and feel. However the ricasso has been extended and is unsharpened, offering a sublime forward grip-choil to avoid the index finger accidentally slipping onto the cutting edge.
