The BMC Dual Grit 1000 & 4000 Sharpening Whetstone consists of a fine white 4000 and green 1000 aluminum oxide abrasive and comes with a secure rubber base,
The more commonly used green 1000 grit side is thicker (16mm), extending the stones service life further.
Before use, we recommend soaking your stone in cold water for 5 minutes. During use, you may benefit from dipping the stone back into water or running under the tap for a second to remove the build up of residue and steel particles.
If after extended and multiple sharpenings, you find the stone is no longer flat, we recommend turning upside down and rubbing the surface on large grit sandpaper, or similar rough, flat surface until the stones surface is flat once more.
Gently wash with warm running water after use.
